Key Role: - Identify fire-related risks, determine strategies to reduce these risks, and design methods to safeguard against fire incidents. - Conduct analyses, formulate, and recommend fire protection requirements for facilities, ensuring safety through space utilization studies and forecasts. - Recommend systems for the mitigation, detection, control, or suppression of fires. - Lead analyses and develop solutions for facility planning and management, aiming to protect people and environments from fire hazards. - Examine building uses and industrial processes, and design, install, and maintain fire detection, suppression, and communication systems. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of experience in a professional setting - Knowledge of risks and safeguards related to fire prevention and control - Familiarity with the International Building Code (IBC), Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), ANSI, and ASCE standards - Ability to obtain a Secret clearance - Bachelor’s degree - Professional Engineering Certification Additional Qualifications: - Experience with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction drawings - Knowledge of specialized design engineering systems, including various fire suppression systems and notifications - Support capability for facility design services in repair projects or operational support - Master’s degree in Engineering - National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Certification Clearance: - Applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information.
